We have particular expertise in dealing with people charged with drug offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. From simple possession to trafficking and importing, we have successfully represented individuals charged with offences related to myriad substances.

In particular, we have been at the forefront of the developments in law surrounding fentanyl and related substances. We have handled some of the biggest opiate seizures in Waterloo Region and Ontario, generally. Since the criminal justice system first started dealing with the fentanyl crisis in 2015, we have been helping clients and ensuring their fair treatment in the criminal justice system.

When charged with a drug offence, all hope may seem lost. However, there are almost always options available, including defences under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We ensure that every possible defence is explored before ever advising our clients to consider pleading guilty to any charges. We are trial counsel first and foremost.

In situations where clients choose to enter a guilty plea and deal with sentencing, we ensure that thorough research is conducted and every avenue is explored to ensure that our clients get the fairest treatment possible.
